LYRICS

War In The City

we got a war in the city
we got a war in the country
war in the city
got a war in the country
you divide the laws
and you come with no cause
your pushing down your friends
because they’ve come to mean an end
for the day that your trying
now were watching you lying
was the front that you played
worth the graves that we laid

for the victims that cried all know that you lied
back to the truth but you bugged every booth
chilling in the country just shootin’ them when they move
as life goes on we’ve been pickin’ up the clues

we got a war in the city
we got a war in the country
war in the city
got a war in the country

you gotta look at all the people
look at, look at all the faces
you gotta look at all the people
look at, look at all the faces

people followed you because they had no clue
of all the evil things a person can do
you planned the bait and switch
while you singled out your niche
to gain all the trust of a nation in two
don’t divide the red from the white and the blue
was their fire in the sky or was it burning in your eyes
you devise the size of the worlds new demise.

we got a war in the city
we got a war in the country
war in the city
got a war in the country

you gotta look at all the people
look at, look at all the faces
you gotta look at all the people
look at, look at all the faces

Soljas

we are soljahas
going to fight a war
there is someone
knock knock knocking on your door
a haze of color hits you while you sleep
jump jump jumpin on the roof and hangin on the peaks

If you struggle through your day
there’s a chance you’ll be ok
if you look outside yourself
if you wallow in the mud
you surround yourself with crud
what you get is what you got

we’ve been fighting since the day we were born
a battle of good versus evil and the lines have been torn
we don’t need weapons to make us feel strong
organized thoughts make words
and we put it to a battle song

If you struggle through your day
there’s a chance you’ll be ok
if you look outside yourself
if you wallow in the mud
you surround yourself with crud
what you get is what you got

just when you thought you were all alone
you hear that ringing in your ear
psych! its the telephone
they are calling from a place where they just don’t care
a barren wasteland where they over compress the snare

If you struggle through your day
there’s a chance you’ll be ok
if you look outside yourself
if you wallow in the mud
you surround yourself with crud
what you get is what you got

Excardon Me

You have to forgive me
because i cant remember your name
that’s all good he said
its just the name of the game
six years rocking and we still haven’t cracked the ice
i guess now its time for a sacrifice

then he said
don’t let it go to your head
again he said
you can try the best you can
what it was
aint ever what it is
come on now you got this life to live

you’ll have to remind me because i cant figure out why your down
your the number one talk of everybody in town
you’d think that the earth opened up
swallowed up your soul
as it turns out without a doubt your just as good as gold

then he said
don’t let it go to your head
again he said
you can try the best you can
what it was
aint ever what it is
come on now you got this life to live

Can’t Keep Everything

It started with a book
a simple simple book
along came another one
what did you do
put it on the shelf

then it was a letter from a friend
to make you feel better
along came another one
what did you do?
put it on the shelf

picked up a video game at the junk store
like you needed more
played it one time through
what did you do?
put it on the shelf

it was time for a new vacation
to get away from all the clutter you uttered

Over the years
there’s many many things that you put on the shelf
shouldn’t matter much any way come on now, take a look at yourself
used to pump iron every single day
what did you do?
put it on the shelf
an old broken guitar that you never play
put it on the shelf
a pair of roller skates from nineteen eighty six
don’t fit anymore anyway
what did you do?
put it on the shelf

you can’t keep everything that you get
in your life
you can’t keep everything that you get
in your life
you can’t keep everything that you get
in your life

California

California, I can hear you calling’
like a warm fresh breeze threw the redwood trees I know
Humboldt county, I can see the faces
like an old good friend i haven’t seen in ages
Santa Barbra, a stop’s in order
because were gonna need to get some rest before we get to the border

Colorado, I watch the sun rise
the reflection off the lake cast a beam of light in my eyes
rocky mountain I’d like to climb high
up until the point that i don’t see anything but sky
down by the river
I’ll let it all go
its the middle of july on a tube float by you know.

Where my home is
where my home is
where my home is where my heart is.

Where my home is
where my home is
where my home is where the road is

you come knocking, there’s nobody home,
I’m probably there but on the telephone
if you come knocking there’s nobody there
i guess I’m on the road and I just don’t care

Where my home is
where my home is
where my home is where my heart is.

Where my home is
where my home is
where my home is where the road is

Playo

ooh we playo
but no payo

you come in the morning time
you rise and you feel the shine
wait until it comes to you, all up in the sky so blue
sing when you got a song
you’ve done this all along
if I could I’d stop the time
I would because it ain’t no crime

what to say what to say what to say right now hey

ooh we playo
but no payo

then the afternoon
you feel the burn is soon
its time to let it go
open up the show
we came and we had our fun
but now we got to run
we did not get the cash
had to dip into the stash

what to say what to say what to say right now hey

ooh we playo
but no payo

Hear What I Say

if the morning brings the sun
we are gonna run
run away
saving all our troubles for a rainy day
ooh can you hear what i say?
hear what i say

if the night don’t catch on fire
you cant feel desire
let it go
it ain’t over no, you never know
ooh, can you hear what i say?
hear what i say

and a new day comes
lifting away what the night had begun
the people here are still left wondering why
if the change ain’t made
the world ain’t turning and we don’t get paid
were one step closer to the place we had in mind

well the night just cant get worse
the witch won’t lift her curse
standing here
looking all around but there’s no one near
can you hear what i say?
hear what i say

when the boat does pull to shore
the moon’s face light just tore
let it go
it aint over know you never know
ooh can you hear what i say?
hear what i say

and a new day comes
lifting away what the night had begun
the people here are still left wondering why
if the change aint made
the world aint turning and we don’t get paid
were one step closer to the place we had in mind

Sunrise, Sunset

sunrise, sunset
it doesn’t have to be
the only thing you can expect is pure reality
this way that way
its all the same in the end
open up and tell me girl
I’ve got a hand to lend

then you
stop by
to say
nobody looks your way
I can tell
that your well
but you don’t know when enough is enough
stop, i can’t hear
i wont look
you should have wrote this down in your book
take time to feel good
you really should
it’s easier then splitting wood
easier then splitting wood

then because of the way you are
had to rise up to the stars
looked around i was so
high had to fly I had to fly

the moon and the stars
are watching us drive cars
shook the lunar spin
thinking we would win
upside down and all around is the way the world turns
all the fires in all the places is the way my passion burns

then you
stop by
to say
nobody looks your way
I can tell
that your well
but you don’t know when enough is enough
stop, i can’t hear
i wont look
you should have wrote this down in your book
take time to feel good
you really should
it’s easier then splitting wood
easier then splitting wood

then because of the way you are
had to rise up to the stars
looked around i was so
high had to fly I had to fly

sunrise, sunset
it doesn’t have to be
the only thing you can expect is pure reality
this way that way
it’s all the same in the end
open up and tell me girl
I’ve got a hand to lend

then you
stop by
to say
nobody looks your way
I can tell
that your well
but you don’t know when enough is enough
stop

Where Is The One
lyrics by TJ berry

oh oh where is thee one
this rhythm is so simple i can’t be that dumb
oh oh have lots of fun
jam on the floor make me fall on me bum

Play that four four so simple
time can stretch and tracey funky con rimple
with a smile so big i see a little dimple
star trek so crazy with all the fuzzy tribbles

it’s time to wize up wize up and grab a hold
spread it out to make the make the story what it’s told
in the heat and wet and stagnant to make mold
stand out in the sprinkler too long to catch a cold

professor count crazy make my finger go numb
i face twister and blister in the fried fine sun
jump up and out to make the count count count
but i have luck trouble to figure this one out.

oh oh where is the one
this tricky little click keep moving on the run
oh oh have lots of fun
those crazy white bastards in the mountains with their guns
oh oh where is the one
hes run around goose loose lose track of where he’s gone
oh oh have lots of fun
oh maybe you’ll help me out and i could smack it on your bum

oh well i love the rippin dance hall rhythm
in the early morning the pancakes i be flippin
crazy fools all bh juice well they be drippin
just tryin’ and crying to hold to the ribbon cribbon

time to clean up clean up clean up and grab a shovel
scoop up the beats flip em over to make trouble.
steamy dreamy creamy and drippn’ wet fire
empty out my pockets and soul to take you higher

where is that one where is that one one
let me skip a rock across your ocean pond
i see land and cold its a simultaneous yawn.
watch where you sit don’t break no fern frawn

scissor cymbal slicing right threw to the drum core
trying to keep em tight and right its making me tongue sour
but i cant give up no no don’t drop, don’t bore
but those beats keep comin, comin’ and comin’ more.

where is that one where is that one one?

Tuesday Night

built on faith and grown with hope
we’ve cleaned up our streets with a bar of soap
admiral way has a lot to say
with its urban vibe and a glow from the sound
three towers flash and the scrapers stand proud
Columbia tower with a Tuesday night crowd
shipping the dreams from a foreigner soul
contained in a crate worth more than gold

oh Tuesday night

I’ll be moving on don’t you know
to a place where we all go
I’ll be moving on don’t you know
because it will not be too long

the pressure of rain is cured in time
from my place im warmed by the shine
an emerald city it truly is now
with its dark green gleam and its deep rooted scene

a slow moving train like a call from a wolf
coming back home from three months on the roam
there were three of us here to watch over our town
I’ll say it out loud its a Tuesday night crowd.

oh Tuesday night

I’ll be moving on don’t you know
to a place where we all go
I’ll be moving on don’t you know
because it will not be too long.

Saturday Morning

Lyrics by Tj Berry

Saturday morning
and the sun is yawning
it’s time to get up out of bed
to listen to my favorite dub radio show.

yo yo its time time to open my eyes
take a deep breath of life and realize I’m alive
reach for the sounds emanating across town
lift this in-cognoscente brain into the clouds
I’m grabbing at straws to feel the search in my soul
every witch way direction i can feel the arm pull
the pressure and politics are killing my buzz
turn on the dial for a while to feel the love
the clouds will part
the wind will blow
change this consciousness and the tides will roll over us
sweep away the crime
bite on my time
suck on a lime doused with turpentine
clean and conspire
light my live wire
spirits so high
anytime we could die
but its Saturday morning
and nothing can go wrong
i play it again and again my favorite song
pump out the jams
pump out the bass
pull all of these stress wrinkles
out of my face
so now I got to get up
propel against gravity
make a new life full of hope and prosperity
grab a guitar and some words and a melody
changing my thoughts and dreams into reality
but its Saturday morning
and the whole world is new
the dinosaurs are extinct
lets all get a clue
make every thing just count in the direction of the positive
stop bop turn on the radio colors straight from blue

Saturday morning
and the sun is yawning
it’s time to get up out of bed
to listen to my favorite dub radio show.

Congo Town

there’s a place where the wind will blow the trees
shaking out the limbs and exposing all the bees
there’s a town where I know your heart is found
deep inside the Congo of your mind
the wizard throws
his magic to and fro
waiting for an answer from the chancellor
an opportunity to get things in control
open it up come on its time to roll

so many times before
we lost you at the door
i guess you wanted more
i guess you wanted
so many times before
we lost you at the door
i guess you wanted more
i guess you wanted

there comes a time in the life of a person when they know
that its gotta be time to go
come on get out the door
what are you waiting
for better times down the road
but you know if you wait too long
someone else will be singing your song
some one else will be singing it
play it smooth and play it cool
because you know when its up to you
there’s a lot that you can do
there’s a lot that you can
do anything that you like
its easier then riding a bike
just don’t go out with a fight
don’t go out like

so many times before
we lost you at the door
i guess you wanted more
i guess you wanted
so many times before
we lost you at the door
i guess you wanted more
i guess you wanted

there’s a place where the wind will blow the trees
shaking out the limbs and exposing all the bees
there’s a town where I know your heart is found
deep inside the Congo of your mind
the wizard throws
his magic to and fro
waiting for an answer from the chancellor
an opportunity to get things in control
open it up come on its time to roll

so many times before
we lost you at the door
i guess you wanted more
i guess you wanted
so many times before
we lost you at the door
i guess you wanted more
i guess you wanted

Think Yer Dyin’

you think your dying dying
you think your dying but your still alive

all along the way
it was a game that you never should have played
but you did it anyway
now your going to go away

you were walking on the edge
playing like you just dont care
slip your tumbling down
your falling suspended in air

100 Years

what if you lived
for a hundred years
what would you see
is it blood and tears
or would it be
baby fancy free
I’m not you
no now your not me

If I take my time with you
would you give me what I need?
when I split my life in two
half is for you and the other’s for you

how can i go
go on living here
i just want
to be free from fear
even though
darkness lurks inside
i don’t care
because i don’t abide

If I take my time with you
would you give me what I need?
when I split my life in two
half is for you and the other’s for you

what if you lived
for a hundred years
what would you see
is it blood and tears
or would it be
baby fancy free
I’m not you
no now your not me

If I take my time with you
would you give me what I need?
when I split my life in two
half is for you and the other’s for you
